Hello and welcome to the Hodge Podge Lodge Blog! It’s a mouth full, I know, but once you hear our name it’s hard to forget about us. I love calling people and saying that I’m from Hodge Podge Lodge, they always laugh a bit and then say, “That’s a great name!” And most of the time it’s call center people so making them laugh is always fun!
But I’m off topic. I’m here to introduce some of the names that you’ll be hearing from!
Let’s start with Jeff & Mistie Angelo, owners of Hodge Podge Lodge. After retiring from the Santa Clause business Jeff knew he wanted to continue helping people make memories that last a lifetime. Naturally the wedding business is a great chance to do just that. His passion for cooking is a great asset to HPL, whether he’s cooking breakfast for our B&B guests, or catering for a wedding, he’s happy in the kitchen and turns out some amazing food. Be expecting some secret recipes and kitchen tips from him.
Carolyn Mills, owner of Sweet Tea & Linen, is our resident wedding specialist. She is our wedding coordinator and stylist for the couples that get married at Hodge Podge Lodge. And there is no one else we would rather have for the job! She continually goes above and beyond for everyone she has ever worked with. She transforms HPL every weekend to make it exactly the place that our couples were envisioning. The things she can do with some Baby’s Breath and draping is insane. You’ll get all the juicy insider info from her.
And lastly there’s me, Callie, the office manager at HPL. I do a little bit of everything throughout the week from paperwork to laundry, and then during weddings I’m doing anything Carolyn and Jeff ask to make our couples special day the very best one ever! Expect a bunch of random DIYs and insights of the house from me. I also recently got engaged so will be sharing personal experiences of dress shopping, vendor hunting, and all the things leading up to a wedding. I’ll try out all the Pinterest “tips” and “hacks” and report back to let you know which ones were useful and which were total fails.
We’re all very excited for this new blog. In addition to our posts we will be sharing blogs from our favorite vendors and even having some guest blog for us! Our goal is to help future brides and grooms in any way we can, opening the floor for discussions and ideas, and hopefully be entertaining while doing so.
